Leprechaun crossing!

セント・パトリックス・デーではかかすことのできない、アイルランドの象徴の1つで、本国ではもっとも有名な妖精といわれています。ある地域には、「レプリコーンに注意」 という道路標識もあるほどです。

It’s hard to forget about him once you see a Leprechaun.

The Leprechaun is a fairy that is often talked about in Irish folklore.
He is a little old man, who has a hat and a thick, red beard.
In the beginning, his clothes were red, but now he is commonly seen in green clothes.

The Leprechaun is one of the symbols of Ireland, he’s essential to St. Patrick’s Day and he’s also thought to be the most famous fairy in the country. In some areas, there are traffic sign’s on the road that says “Leprechaun crossing”.

The Leprechaun is a shoemaker that’s mischievous and likes solitude. He’s often called a “degenerate fairy”, yet it doesn’t mean good nor bad fairy.
He has said to have hidden a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, and the legend says that if you capture him he will tell you where it is. Or, he will grant three wishes in exchange for freedom.
But he is very good at making people look away from him, so he can vanish quickly. So it’s difficult to catch him.
Still, it means good luck to even just find him.

If you hear a hammering sound of hitting shoes, it’s a sign that he is nearby. As the leprechaun is a cobbler by trade.
